Several UIS students were honored for their roles in the annual Model Illinois Government (MIG) simulation at the state capitol on March 2, 2014. The UIS delegation was also honored with the Outstanding Large Delegation award.
More than 500 volunteers gathered in the UIS Recreation and Athletic Center in November 2013 to help assemble Manna Packs for hungry children around the world. It was called the Feed My Starving Children event.

The Art Student League presents the 2014 University of Illinois Springfield Student Juried Exhibition from March 31 to April 11, 2014, in the Access Gallery in the Visual and Performing Arts Building.
UIS recently added 22 more nation’s flags to the lobby of Sangamon Auditorium, with each flag representing the country of origin of a UIS student. UIS now has more than 400 international students. Related links: How we support international students
