Evelyn Brandt Thomas, a local businesswoman and philanthropist, will receive an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters at the UIS commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 17.

An annual survey conducted by the UIS Survey Research Office shows Sangamon County employers are not expecting big changes in the employment rate in Sangamon County. The “Foot in the Door” Career Fair has transitioned from a part-time job fair to a major career fair. More than 100 recruiters will be at the career fair Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013. Students will be able to connect with employers about full-time positions, part-time jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities. Alumni are also welcome.
