Candidates for the Republican nomination for governor will gather in Peoria on January 23 for a debate, according to Gatehouse News Service. It will be broadcast on public radio and television in Illinois. WUIS public radio station at UIS is among the stations planning the debate.

State Representatives Wayne Rosenthal and Adam Brown, both UIS alumni, and another colleague came to the rescue of a man who was injured in an unusual accident in Decatur late last month. Chancellor Koch blogged about this issue and said she wasn’t the least bit surprised by their actions.
