Position Opening

POSITION DESCRIPTION: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY: The Psychology Department at the University of Illinois at Springfield has an opening beginning August 18, 2008, for a tenure-track position at the beginning Assistant Professor level. Requirements include a Ph.D. in psychology from a regionally accredited university and completion of an APA-accredited internship by the start date. Being licensed or license-eligible is preferred. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in Abnormal Psychology, Theories of Personality, Introduction to Clinical Psychology, and Psychological Foundations for Helping, with the possibility of teaching Psychological Tests and Measurement, Behavior Modification, Senior Seminar and courses in the candidate’s specialty area. The applicant should demonstrate potential for scholarship and/or research in a specialty area. Normal teaching load is three courses per semester. Advising is required. College teaching experience is desirable, and dedication to teaching is essential. A Ph.D. must be awarded by the start date.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in psychology from a regionally accredited university and completion of an APA-accredited internship by the start date. Being licensed or license-eligible is preferred. Prior evidence of excellence in teaching and a demonstrated potential for research is desirable.

DEPARTMENT: Located in the state capital, the University of Illinois at Springfield is the third campus of the University of Illinois.
