Innocence Project University of Illinois Springfield

Erin Wilson

Photo of Erin Wilson. Erin graduated in Spring 2012 with a double major in Legal Studies and Political Science. She interned with the Project in Spring 2012 and worked part-time for us in the summer 2012.

In November 2010 the Project had Kirk Bloodsworth, the first Innocence Project DNA exoneree from Death Row, speak about his case and his time in prison as an innocent man. Erin credits attending this presentation with sparking a personal interest in innocence cases. She then continued looking into the issue of wrongful convictions through her readings, and eventually enrolled in the “Conviction of the Innocent” class taught by Project Director Larry Golden in the fall of 2011.

Erin firmly believes in the concept of justice, which led her to work with the Project. She hopes that her experience with the Project will help deliver justice to the innocent men and women who have been wrongfully convicted. Erin is currently attending the Charlotte School of Law, having begun in the Fall of 2013.
