Photo of student Tom Funfsinn. A Legal Studies and History double major, Tom completed his internship with the Project in Summer 2011 and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree here at UIS.
He first became interested in the Project after attending a campus presentation by Kirk Bloodsworth, the first Innocence Project DNA exoneree from death row. The following semester he took a course taught by Project Legal Director John Hanlon on the subject of wrongful convictions.
Greatly interested in individual liberty and the abuses of legal systems, Tom appreciates the mission of innocence projects in their work for those ensnared by miscarriages of justice.
