Men’s and Women’s Tennis
Faculty Member: Andrew Predmore, PhD, Assistant Professor, Environmental Studies
I’m a faculty partner because it’s fun and I love tennis. I participate because I enjoy getting to know UIS students outside of the classroom and think these interactions might help students recognize the humanity of their professors–that we have interests, families, and lives beyond the university. All of these things, even in small doses, help build a sense of campus community. Finally, as an athlete myself, I’ve learned from sports things that carry over into the rest of life; the importance of perseverance, discipline, teamwork, performance under pressure, humility, etc. My goal is to help the coaching staff and players in whatever ways I can. In the past, this has meant attending matches and being supportive, attending occasional practices, and being available to offer more support to student athletes should the need arise.
