Teaching Concentration: Freshman Composition

Biography:

Ms. Jones completed her MA in English from George Mason University with an emphasis on the teaching of writing and literature and has taught college composition and introductory literature as an adjunct instructor at several colleges in Virginia, Maryland, and Missouri. After completing graduate courses in geography and working for several years in mapping and land surveying, Ms. Jones returned to an academic career teaching dual-credit composition, literature, and humanities for high school juniors and seniors. She has also been active as a writer and editor in the equestrian community.

Edited and regularly contributed to the Sound Advocate, a 16-page bi-monthly newsletter for Friends of Sound Horses, 2004-2007. Published articles about horse trainers and owners, equestrian events, and horse breed information. Produced newsletter from late 2005 through 2007.

Finishing Manual. Surdex Corporation, 2003. 100-page technical manual for the finishing (map editing) department. Also documented proprietary software and the flow of data throughout the company; proofread proposal documents.
