Kinds of Gifts That You Can Make

Students

People who give to the University of Illinois Springfield almost always give one of two different kinds of gifts: Annual Gifts and Planned Gifts. You can learn more about each below.

Annual Gifts

These gifts include any gift of cash given during a fiscal year for use during that year. You can make a gift in any amount in cash, check, or credit card using the links below.

Planned Gifts

Planned gifts generally require help from a gift officer, who works with you on the purpose of your gift. Planned gifts sometimes also require a fund agreement, prepared by the University of Illinois Foundation. The planning insures that the university uses your gift for the purposes you choose.

Your planned gift might have very limited criteria for its use, but you can also give an unrestricted gift, which means the university may use the gift where it is most needed. These gifts, of course, are always welcome become needs change and opportunities arise unexpectedly. Unrestricted gifts make it possible to respond to each.

If you are interested in planning a gift, our gift officers will be happy to meet with you to plan your gift.

Planned gifts include scholarships and funds that help units on campus–colleges, the Auditorium, Student Affairs, and so forth. The linked list below includes some the gifts that can require planning.
