Kent Redfield Scholarship Created
If you know Kent Redfield or have been one of his students over the past 29 years, we’re willing to bet that you have been touched by his deep dedication to scholarship, teaching, and the University of Illinois at Springfield. But most importantly, we remember Kent’s dedication to his students.
Kent was not only a professor. He was a mentor, friend, and trusted advisor.
In honor of Kent’s retirement, we, along with the Political Science Department and many of Kent’s friends, students, and colleagues, are establishing the Redfield Scholarship annual award based on merit and financial need. As such, this scholarship will bring honor to both Kent and to an outstanding student in the department. Kent always cared so much about giving everyone the chance to learn and engage themselves at UIS—and this certainly included students with financial limitations. By giving to this fund, you’ll be helping us extend Kent’s dedication to learning.
The University of Illinois at Springfield, the College of Public Affairs and Administration, and the Political Science Department needs your support to provide this scholarship to future students. Your tax-deductible contribution of $40, $100, $200, $500 or more would make all the difference in providing scholarships to students who need financial support. Your gift will be designated in honor of Kent’s upcoming retirement from UIS.
We appreciate your consideration of this request to provide scholarships to future students. The University community, and most importantly the students will cherish your generosity.
