Lisa Chen Justin Stearns, assistant professor of accountancy, received his Ph.D. in Accounting from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2012. He holds three master’s degrees in Business Administration (Webster University), Finance (Webster University) and Accounting (Illinois State University). His B.S. in Finance was also earned from the Illinois State University.
Before joining UIS, Dr. Stearns taught at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale and also had teaching stints at the McKendree University and Webster University. His teaching interests include Managerial and Cost Accounting while research interests are primarily in experimental research exploring, judgment and decision making related to managerial control systems.
Dr. Stearns is an active member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the American Accounting Association (AAA).
