UIS Feature: Day of Silence

UIS freshman Adam Tomaszewski was one of a number of students taking part in the annual Day of Silence. On this day, students across the country take a vow of silence to bring attention to the silencing effect of anti-LGBTQ bullying and harassment in schools. The event was organized by the LGBTQA Resource Office; Office of Disability Services; OLAS; and the SGA.

UIS Feature: Educational leadership

Professor Leonard Bogle spent 34 years working in public education, including time as a middle and elementary school principal, before joining the department of Educational Leadership at UIS. His research interests include blended learning and the use of technology to enhance online and face-to-face instruction.

UIS Feature: Festival of Colors

Students celebrate Holi on the UIS campus. Holi is an Indian festival of colors that celebrates the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil. The UIS event was organized by Kalanidhi--Indian Dance Organization, Indian Student Organization, and the Indian Society for Enriching Ethnic Standards.

The political science and legal studies major is an intern with the Illinois Innocence Project where she’s working to help overturn the convictions of people she believes were wrongly convicted.
