EUNIC curatorial exchange project 2012

EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture)

EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) is delighted to announce two events dedicated to the EUNIC curatorial exchange project!

A young generation of Russian curators, working today both freelance and for cultural institutions in both Moscow and numerous dynamic cultural centres in Russia’s regions,  will decisively shape the exhibitions and cultural life of the country in the future; modernizing and developing exhibition centres, biennales and institutions.  Working experience in other countries can support their development.

In 2011 winners of the young curators competition had internships with: Haus der Kunst (Germany), Die Springerin and  Tranzit (Austria), Kalmar konstmuseum (Sweden), Centre Pompidou-Metz (France), Anaid Art Gallery (Romania) and Turner Contemporary(the UK).

Participants will analyse results of the Programme 2011, as well as announce the new competition for 2012. Emerging curators who have completed internships at museums and galleries of Austria, France, Germany, Romania, Sweden and the UK are going to make presentations together with their colleagues from the hosting placements:

13 MARCH, 19:00 / ROUND TABLE  “EDUCATING THE NEXT GENERATION OF RUSSIAN AND EUROPEAN ART CURATORS"

The invited experts are meeting do discuss the challenges and opportunities in educating the next generation of art curators in Russia and Europe. The speakers will be representatives of the European art institutions mentioned above as well as:

  • Ann Deemester, Director , Appel arts center, Holland
  • Christina Steinbrecher , Art Director, Central House of Artists , Moscow

There will be also a number of other representatives present at the event. For example:
