An extensive collection of learning resources and contemporary literature at your fingertips

Ever wanted to sit and browse an English newspaper or flick through the latest magazine? Want to get an edge and improve your professional knowledge? Someone told you the information you need is on the internet, but don’t know how to get at it? Need a way to improve your English in your own time? Want to encourage your children to read books and make use of education videos and games from the UK? Then our Resource Centre are for you.

What our Resource Centre offer?
We have on-line resources to help you gather the information you need as well as an enormous collection of books, videos, newspapers, periodicals, and English language learning materials.

In our Dhaka Resource Centre, for example, you can:

Browse over 3000 books, videos and magazines on UK living,and leisure in our Lifestyle Zone – covering sport, food, fashion & design, art & architecture, music and history.
Consult some 3,000 books videos and magazines in our Business, Management and IT Zone - with practical guides to help your career in banking, accountancy, marketing, computing and a variety of management skills.
Access well over 8,000 books and other materials for academic studies in law, politics, economics, medicine, science as well as essential O and A level text books in our Learning Zone
Read contemporary UK fiction, or improve your English language skills in our Open Learning Zone where we have over 5,000 books, videos, audio cassettes and CDs.Looking to boost your IELTS score? Wanting to improve your English? Then come to our self access centre where you can find a great selection of IELTS and other English language books, audio cassettes, audio CDs and videos. We have even converted our audio listening materials into digital format.
Let your children explore our Young Learners’ Zone packed full of fun and learning materials including thousands of storybooks, resource packs, CDs on a variety of subjects, hundreds of videos and a wide variety of computer games. We have added DVD for children to take home.
Use our Cyber Zone where members can access the internet and discover a range of on-line learning resources and information using our contemporary technology.
Use our Listening Practice Zone where members can use AV materials to develop their listening skills.

Where are our Resource Centre in Bangladesh?
British Council in Bangladesh has a Resource Centre in Chittagong and a Resource in Dhaka. Our Resource Centre in Chittagong is located at British Council Premier University Resource Centre1/A O.R Nizam Road (Opposite CSCR Hospital)Probortok Circle, Chittagong.
