Cecilia is 31 years old and lives in buenos Aires. She has a diploma in Social Education (University Ramón Llull- España) and another on Environmental Education (University of Comahüe- CTERA).
About Cecilia´s project
Cecilia has created La Verbena Environmental Learning Centre. La Verbena’s mission is to help improve the relationship between people and our planet Earth.
La Verbena is located in a farm in the Pampa’s eco-region (Buenos Aires province). Here they receive groups of children that come to participate of one of the different environmental programmes they offer. For a couple of days kids participate in classes that make them connect with nature and put into practice sustainable actions. Games, walks and diverse activities raise their consciousness about the environmental problems.They also do environmental education with adults in different events and places, such as festivals, schools and businesses.
What is the biggest Challenger that Cecilia faces?
Contribute to the expansion of environmental education in Argentina.
What can she do to make a change?
Through environmental education she can help participants be more sensitive and conscious of the environmental problems and adopt behaviours that will help them reduce their carbon footprint.
