City College is augmenting its applicant pool to fill vacancies, which may possibly occur in the future.  All positions are subject to budget ability.

Responsibilities:

Under close supervision, performs work of ordinary difficulty in cleaning public buildings and their immediate grounds; performs related light labor duties; performs related work.

Examples of typical tasks are:

·         Sweeps, damp mops and wet mop office floors, toilets, lobbies, corridors, etc.

·         Dusts, removes and cleans window coverings such as Venetian blinds

·         Cleans washbasins and other toilet room facilities

·         Vacuums, rugs and carpets

·         Scrubs floors with an electric machine, waxes and polishes floors

·         Empties wastebaskets and disposes of refuse

·         Vacuums, dusts and polishes furniture

·         Sweeps and removes snow from sidewalks

·         Replaces bulbs and fuses

·         Cleans mirrors, glass in bookcases and doors/light fixtures

Qualification Requirements:

No formal education or experience is required.  There are certain medical and physical requirements.

Salary:$23,531  

This salary reflects a 13% salary suppressed rate in effect for the first 24 months of employment only.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (overtime eligible)
