Position Description and Duties

The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education seeks an Assistant or Associate Medical Professor (Basic Sciences) to participate in team teaching of Medical Microbiology to highly-motivated students enrolled in a seven year combined BS/MD program.  The selected candidate will also perform service duties as required by the department and school and participate in or maintain a competitive research program.

Qualification Requirements

Ph.D. and /or M.D. with a minimum of three (3) years of postdoctoral experience.  Candidates must have a demonstrated record of scholarly research and publications in the fields of Microbiology and Immunology as well as demonstrated experience in teaching Microbiology.  Preference will be given to candidates interested in working in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment with interests complementing those of departmental faculty.  Priority will be given to candidates with externally funded research programs.
