2. Evidence of student enrollment from a University or College

3. A two-page, double-spaced proposal statement including the following:

• Purpose of the Scholarship (describe Project)
• Amount requested (up to $3,000.00)
• Project objectives
• Implementation plan, including timetable
• Outcomes of the project

4. Current resume or curriculum vitae

5. A detailed budget outlining the use of the funds requested

• Original receipts must be submitted by August 1, 2008

Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis.Criteria include the following:

• Inform the broad area of Dominican Studies
• Potential for successful completion of the scholarly research, educational project, creative work, seminar, workshop or annotated bibliography of texts published in the U.S. and/or the Dominican Republic on issues of the Dominican diaspora, identity, race, color, language, educational achievement, or other, by September 1st
• Potential for successful implementation of the project by December 31, 2008
• Utilization (directly, if grantee is located in New York area, or electronically, if grantee is located outside of New York area) of the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute Library and Archives, located at the City College of New York, 160 Convent Avenue at 138th Street, New York, NY 10031
