2/1/2012 - Sophomore, C, Mike Wieland (Rock Island HS) has committed to play at the University of Arkansas, Pine Bluff next year. Mike transferred to Heartland for his sophomore year after helping Iowa Western CC reach the NJCAA D-1 World Series last year as a freshman. Mike batted .317 with 23 RBI last year at IWCC.
1/22/2012 - Heartland sophomore, LHP, Aaron Hauge (Homewood Flossmoor HS) has committed to play at Southern Illinois University - Carbondale next year. SIU-C competes in the Missouri Valley Conference and finished 23-34 last year. Former Heartland catcher Luke Mottashed is currently a Junior at SIU-C.
Aaron posted great numbers last year as a freshman, leading the Hawks to a 54-11 record and an apperance at the NJCAA D-II World Series. Hauge went 10-1 with a 2.41 ERA. In 75 IP, He struck out a Heartland CC single season 106 batters while only walking 19.
1/3/2012 - Heartland CC baseball is pleased to announce that sophomore, 1B, Mike Failoni (Edwardsville HS) has committed to play at Lindenwood University next year. Lindenwood is a powerhouse D-II program who over the last four years, has averaged over 40 wins per season and won three conference championships. In 2013, Lindenwood will begin competing in the MIAA, one of the nation's top D-II conferences. Mike batted .409 with 8 HR, 70 RBI, & 14 SB last year as a freshman, leading the Hawks to a 54-11 record and the NJCAA D-II World Series.
12/7/2011 - Sophomore LHP, Ryder Borre (New Trier HS) has committed to play at Eastern Kentucky University next year. Borre compiled a 1-0 record with a 1.29 ERA in 7 innings pitched last year as a freshman at Heartland.
11/22/2011 - Sophomore RHP, Jeremy Stawychny (East Leyden HS) has committed to play at Lee University (TN) next year. Lee is a powerhouse NAIA program who has made five straight NAIA World Series appearances while winning 50 plus games in each of the last five seasons. Jeremy went 4-1 with a 3.67 ERA last year as a freshman. He struck out 56 and walked 15 in 54 innings pitched, helping lead Heartland to its first NJCAA World Series appearance in school history.
11/15/2011 - Heartland CC Baseball sophomore RHP, Matt Lynch (St. Ignatius HS) has committed to play at Eastern Kentucky University next year. Lynch transferred to Heartland this year after pitching at the University of Maryland in 2011.
10/27/2011 - Heartland CC Baseball is pleased to announce that sophomore outfielder, Aaron Vogt (Eureka, MO) has committed to play for the Campbell (NC) Fighting Camels in the Big South next year. Vogt started 9 of Heartland’s 10 post-season games last year after being fully recovered from a fall wrist injury. He hit .368 with 1 HR, 20 RBI & 10 SB in 22 games started.
10/26/2011 - Hawks baseball is pleased to announce that sophomore firstbaseman, Dylan Johnson (Bloomington HS) has committed to play for the Illinois State Redbirds next year. Dylan was an NJCAA First Team All-American last year hitting .433 with 14 HR’s, 81 RBI & 26 SB. Dylan becomes the 35th player in Heartland’s brief five year history to make the move to a D-1 program and he also becomes the 9th Hawk to move on to play at Illinois State.
9/11/2011 - Heartland traveled to Tennessee over the weekend, they started their first game on Saturday but the rain did not stay away and both games on Saturday were canceled. On Sunday, the Hawks went 2-0. They defeated Vincennes University, 12-5 and Motlow State, 9-2.
9/3/2011 - Hawks went 0-2 over the weekend at Judson University dropping the double header 11-13 and 1-2.
9/1/2011 - Heartland comes out ahead in a close battle over Lake Land College winning 6-5.
