What is Skills for Success and how do I get more information?

Skills for Success is made up of a four-week computers skills class and an eight-week class that covers employability skills. You will develop a resume, get help with interviewing skills, and learn how to dress for success. For more information please call 309-268-8089.

When do Skills for Success classes start and how do I enroll?

Skills for Success is offered three times a year. See Class Schedules for more information.

You will need to schedule an enrollment appointment with the ABE/GED Coordinator. To schedule an appointment, call 309-268-8089.

Do I have to be enrolled in GED classes to attend the Skills for Success class?

No. Anyone who needs job search assistance can enroll in the program. Priority enrollment will be given to students from Heartland’s GED program, individuals who receive financial assistance from the City of Bloomington Township or Department of Human Services, and individuals who are referred from the Bloomington Housing Authority.

Is there a fee for the program?

No. Skills for Success classes are funded with grants from the state of Illinois and are offered at no cost to students.
