Events

Special events are an important source of funding for the Heartland Community College Foundation scholarship program.

Each of these events support the scholarship fund and provides opportunities for many deserving students, 90% of whom remain in the community.

• Employee Campaign

  The employee campaign enables Heartland faculty and staff to support those students they interact with daily. Funds from the employee campaign benefit the Foundation's general scholarship fund or can be designated to a specific scholarship or program of the donor's choice.  The employee campaign event "1 vs. The Mob" was held on campus April 9.  Over 80 employees have pledged support and raised over $22,000 for scholarships. 

• Scholarship Scramble

  The Scholarship Scramble at the Den at Fox Creek was a fantastic outing! Over 100 golfers in attendance on a sunny 80 degree day, the event raised over $25,000 for student scholarships! Golfers enjoyed lunch from Schnucks, a great round of golf and a steak dinner from Times Past Inn. They also had the chance to beat club pro Josh Peck in a closest to the pin contest. Thank you to everyone who helped future scholarship winners!

• Evening of Dreams September 18, 2008

  Evening of Dreams is the signature annual event of the Foundation at the Bloomington Center for Performing Arts. The event is always slightly different each year with silent auction items, an amazing interactive experience for attendees and a live auction with unique items. This event presents an opportunity for individuals and local businesses to support education for local residents through a variety of sponsorships and other giving opportunities.

• Celebration of Excellence October 23, 2008

  The Celebration of Excellence is a reception to honor the Heartland Community College Foundation scholarship recipients and their commitment to academic achievement. Business and community leaders from district 540 will be among the attendees of the 2008 HCC scholarship reception on October 23rd, 2008 at the college.

In 2007, the Foundation awarded over $70,000 in scholarships, which assisted 54 Heartland Community College students in your community. Proceeds also funded $10,000 in grants for the HCC Child Care Center.
