Donating to ECE

ECE is eternally grateful for the unwavering support it receives from alumni and friends. Your monetary donations help the department meet its goals of producing the engineers of the future while conducting research that will make that future brighter for all of us.

Types of Gifts

  • Endowments— An endowment is a permanent fund that supports a purpose you specify. Your gift's principal is invested and grows over time. The most common endowments are established to support ECE students (scholarships and fellowships) and faculty positions (chairs and professorships).

  • Scholarships—scholarships help to create opportunities for the next generation of engineers. Providing financial support for ECE's undergraduate students is a great way to secure the future.

  • Fellowships—financial support in the form of a fellowship helps ECE attract the best graduate students, who in turn play important roles in the department's many research initiatives.

  • Chairs, Professorships, and Faculty Scholars—financial support in the form of endowed faculty positions help ECE to attract and reward outstanding faculty.

  • In-Kind Gifts—gifts of software and equipment provide the backbone for many of ECE's world-class laboratories, allowing the department to continue it's proud tradition of providing hands-on experience to all students.

  • Sponsorships—a great way to gain exposure on campus, sponsorship opportunities help to further the educational experience at ECE Illinois.

  • Program Support—you may choose to support a specific ECE program or class, Senior Design, for example. Such gifts are crucial to maintaining and adding programs beneficial to ECE students.
