Mission Statement
The mission of the Student Development and Testing Office is to provide students and community members with programs and services designed to promote academic success, career preparation, and personal development. Career planning activities, counseling and personal development programs, disability support services, minority student programs, peer tutoring services, and testing services all contribute to this mission, and support the educational advancement and workforce development goals of the college and its students.
Through Career Planning activities and Counseling and Personal Development Programs, staff assist students to define and accomplish personal, academic, and career goals. Disability Support services are offered to eligible students in order to provide access to educational programs, and to integrate persons with disabilities into the campus community. Minority Student Programs assist students from diverse backgrounds in participating fully in all of the programs and services available at the college. Through Peer Tutoring Service, student may receive assistance in their academic coursework. Testing Services include standardized testing programs such as the ACT, COMPASS placement testing, and GED, as well as course-related testing services for students and faculty.
