The position will actively engage library patrons by providing research and information literacy services in a progressive, collaborative and customer-focused environment. The Librarian 1 develops and maintains a dynamic information literacy curriculum to support students in their efforts to be an informed participant in the campus curriculum, able to effectively handle and locate information. The Librarian 1 will collaborate with faculty to support research needs of students in all curriculums. The position also requires proactive application of innovative tools available to the campus learner. Position is responsible for providing appropriate analysis and assessment of reference and database services as well as the ongoing evaluation of an appropriate learning environment. As a member of a team of library professionals, participates in resource development including working to develop and provide services to off-campus locations, supporting research within online learning environments and in formulating policies and procedures related to the public services area.
The Library 1 essential job functions include:
- Create an open customer-focused environment to effectively provide reference/information literacy services and instruction to the campus community and general public.
- Maintain reference and electronic resources.
- Assist in the development and provision of services to off-campus and electronic instructional shells.
- Formulate policies and procedures related to the public services area.
- Weekend hours to cover scheduled Saturdays.
- Evening hours as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in library or information sciences from an American Library Association accredited institution is required. Professional experience in an academic library strongly preferred.
SALARY RANGE: $27,792 - $34,740
