Award Notification
Your electronic award notification certifies that you are planning to attend Cleveland State Community College. If after reviewing the award notification, you decide NOT to attend Cleveland State, it is necessary for you to notify the Admissions/Records and Financial Aid Offices in writing. In addition, if your classes are not dropped in a timely manner, you may be liable for a portion of your tuition and fees. If you fail to attend all classes or withdraw from classes, you may owe a repayment to the Department of Education.
Payment and Credit Balance Checks
Complete your Title IV Authorization Form by logging into Cougar Net. Click on the Financial Aid tab, then the big red flag icon. If you would like Cleveland State to use financial aid to cover any charges, you must accept this form. If you do not accept this form, financial aid cannot be used to hold classes, pay fines, purchase books, etc.
Financial aid credit balances for Summer 2012 will be loaded onto a Cleveland State debit card begining Thursday, June 14, 2012. First-time students/first-time borrowers must wait 30 days from the beginning of the full session for their credit balance. Lottery Scholarship credit balances will be available after Thursday, June 28, 2012, for Summer 2012. You may no longer pick up checks at the Business Office.
Books
Books are purchased through the college bookstore at the beginning of each semester. The cost of books is approximately $900 per year. Students who have funds available from Pell and/or Stafford loans and who have completed the Title IV Authorization (see above) may receive a Cleveland State Bookstore voucher not to exceed $800. Vouchers are available Tuesday, May 22 through Tuesday, June 5, 2012, for the Summer 2012 semester. Students in Regents online classes should visit the ROCC website.
Federal Work Study
Students must submit a complete and signed (by student and supervisor) Federal Work Study Time Sheet to the Financial Aid Office in a sealed envelope by the 15th of each month in order to be paid on the last day of each month.
Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards
In order to remain eligible for financial aid, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards. These standards are also available in the catalog or in the Financial Aid Office.
NOTE: Any hold on your account will cause a delay in processing of aid. Attendance must be verified in all classes.
