Course Syllabus
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Regular and punctual attendance at all class and laboratory sessions is the responsibility of each student. Only medically excused absences for lecture and laboratory periods will be accepted to make up missed exams. Students are authorized to leave 15 min. after the published meeting time if the instructor does not meet the class or make other arrangements.
ACADEMIC HONESTY
The policy on academic dishonesty, found in the Clemson University Announcements, will be followed in this class.

Class Goals
1. Understand biological and ecological principles for effective weed management.
2. Improve the understanding of herbicide selectivity, mode of action, injury symptoms and environmental impacts.
3. Apply knowledge of cultural, biological, and chemical control measures to solve problems.
4. Accurately calculate and calibrate application equipment to obtain correct quantities of herbicides.
5. Correctly identify and know life cycles of 100 weed species.
Weekly study problems over the assigned readings will be completed and submitted each Monday by 9:00 AM.
LECTURE SCHEDULE
LECTURE OUTLINE
The examination will cover both lecture (50%) and laboratory (50%) subject matter. Each student is expected to take the commercial pesticide examination or show a valid commercial pesticide license. Study material will be provided for this examination
Grading Policy
7 Exams including final (drop lowest grade)
*Graduate students are expected to participate in class and will get a maximum of 5% for the special problem required for graduate credit.
Grading Scale
A = 90-100
B = 80-89
C = 70-79
D = 60-69
F = 59-
