Course Description:
HORT 304 will focus on ornamental herbaceous plant species including identification, cultural requirements, landscape use and performance.
Course Objectives and Policies
Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, students should be able to:
1. Identify 200+ herbaceous plants grown in the southeastern United
States by genus, species, family and common name.
2. Discuss the cultural requirements, landscape uses and landscape
performance of all of the herbaceous plants of commercial importance in
SC.
3. Design, install and maintain herbaceous plants in the landscape.
4. Understand the herbaceous plant distribution chain.

Attendance and Class Policy:
Punctual attendance and participation are expected for all class meetings.
Lab Maintenance:
Students are expected to maintain the appearance of the lab.
