European Union-Russia: Contemporary Dance Co-Productions    

Intradance is a wide-ranging project in the field of contemporary dance to be carried out in 2009-2010. The project will initiate and present five co-productions between Russian dance companies and European Union based choreographers in five regional cities of Russia and Moscow. Intradance is organised within the framework of the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) and is managed by the Centre Culturel Français in cooperation with the German Goethe-Institut, the British Council, the Portuguese Instituto Camoẽs and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura. The project is funded by the European Commission.

The tasks of the five European Union based choreographers within the project will be:

The choreographer can select up to two persons – for example, assistants, dancers, light or stage designers - to accompany her/him during the co-production in Russia.

The selection of both the European Union based choreographers and the Russian dance companies, as well as the match making for each co-production, will be the responsibility of the managing board of the project.

A grant for the coverage of the co-productions costs, travel costs, accommodation and fees is included in the project.

Criteria for selection of the choreographer:
The choreographer, when applying for this project, should submit, together with the application form, all necessary documents to establish its compliance with the following criteria:

Applications:
Applications should be written in English and should contain:

  1. application form (to be downloaded from www.intradance.ru)
  2. detailed curriculum vitae (including list of choreographic works)
  3. letter of interest (one page A4)
  4. two works presented in the last four years on DVD format (no trailer, only full documentation)
  5. a recommendation letter from a renowned European dance organisation or festival or a national institute for the promotion of culture abroad.

The results will be announced by the end of April 2009.
