We work together with our partner organisations overseas to provide opportunities for young people to work as language assistants both in the UK and 14 countries around the world. We aim to improve both the language ability of the assistants and students in addition to expanding their cultural awareness.
In 2011-2012 we have sent 2,500 English Language Assistants overseas and are hosting over 2,500 Foreign Language Assistants in the UK.
Teaching as a careerIf you are looking for that opportunity oveseas and you are a native speaker of English with foreign language skills (language skills not needed for China), then you may be able to be an English Language Assistant. The initial deadline of 1st December has now passed. The deadline has been extended to 28 February 2012 for Austria (full length and first semester posts only) and Spain. The deadline has been extended to 24 February 2012 for Canada. The deadline for China is 28 February 2012.
The deadline for all other countries is closed.
