IELTS is widely recognised as an entrance language requirement by universities in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and North America (104 universities in USA). IELTS is developed and managed by the University of Cambridge ESOL Exams, the British Council and IDP Education Australia.

MODULES OF IELTS TEST
Academic Module - essential for those of you who are planning to undertake academic study.Band scores are recorded on a Test Report Form, showing overall ability as well as performance in listening, reading, writing and speaking from 1 to 9. (Absolute beginner through to expert user with fully operational command of the language, appropriate, accurate and fluent with complete understanding.)
Different institutions have their own entrance requirements. In general, universities require an Overall Band Score of around 6.5 for entrance to academic courses. You are advised to check with the particular institution to which you are applying.
