Cambridge ESOL Examinations Business English Language Exams

WHY DO BEC?

BEC opens the door to better career prospects and a better future.

Today’s employment market is more competitive than ever. Good jobs are in demand and each vacancy can attract hundreds of applicants. To stand out from the crowd, you need evidence of your skills and abilities that employers will understand and respect. In this increasingly global economy you need qualifications that are recognised, not just in Vietnam but all around the world.

  • The Business English Certificate offers an internationally recognised qualification in English for business purposes
  • The Business English Certificate offers better job opportunities for the 268 multinational companies which recognise BEC, such as IBM, BP, British Airways, Coca Cola, Ericsson, Hewlett Packard, Sony, P&G, Nestle, ICI etc
  • The Business English Certificate paves the way to higher education in-country and overseas

There are three qualifications: BEC Preliminary, BEC Vantage and BEC Higher, which correspond to Council of Europe levels B1, B2 and C1 respectively and the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) Levels Two, Three and Four.

For employers, BEC provides evidence that holders of the certificate have the specified English language ability, and offers the added assurance that they are able to use their skills in a business context.

For learners who expect to mainly use their English at work, the exam offers them a way to prove their ability without having to learn large amounts of vocabulary that they are unlikely to use in real life.
