Dean Hedger    

Dean Hedger was born in Adelaide, South Australia, and has lived and worked in a number of major cities in Australia. He was educated at the Adelaide University, The University of Melbourne and The Northern Territory University and holds a Certificate in Teaching TAFE, a Certificate IV Workplace Assessment and Training, a Bachelor of Teaching, a Master of Applied Linguistic [TESOL], a Higher Certificate in Civil Drafting and Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety [OH&S). Prior to teaching EFL/EFL and teacher training, Dean worked for 20 years as an OH&S Manager for a state government as well as a part time lecturer in OH&S lecturer for the Science Department of the Northern Territory University. He has more that 20 years experience teaching adults and worked in Samoa and Vietnam in the 1990s. He returned to Vietnam in 2001 to work for an Australian funded project providing English for specific purposes, training and teacher training. At the end of December 2002 he joined the British Council. Dean likes to travel and has travelled extensively in Vietnam and the surrounding region. He enjoys fishing and travelling around the countryside on his motorbike.
