Visiting Arts promotes and facilitates the flow of international arts into England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Registered as an independent charity, its work involves providing information and advice as well as training and project development. It is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the British Council, the four UK Arts Councils and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
The Visiting Arts website contains practical information for anyone presenting overseas arts in the UK, including useful help sheets as well as publications and resource guides about UK fundraising.
The site also has information on Visiting Arts’ own funding, training and residency programs as well as details of their extensive collection of Country Profiles, featuring contact information for the arts and cultural sectors from over 40 countries. Case studies of overseas projects which have involved Visiting Arts as well as interviews from actual overseas artists that have performed in the UK are also available.
