It is the application form used by all applicants, both UK and international, who wish to study for any of the following qualifications:
•An undergraduate degree
•A Higher National Diploma or Certificate (HND/HNC)
•A Diploma or Certificate of Higher Education (DipHE/CertHE)
Masters degree and PhD applicants do not apply through UCAS but rather through their intended institutions and/or programs.
You cannot apply to both Oxford and Cambridge unless:
•You are applying for an organ award, or,
•You already have a degree (or you will have gained a degree before the program begins), or,
•You are also applying to Homerton College, Cambridge for a BEd course
Please note that you must submit additional application forms to these institutions. The closing date for Oxford and Cambridge applications is in October prior to the year of matriculation. To view the most up-to-date deadlines, visit the UCAS site.

For undergraduate study, all students (including British students) apply to university through a central clearing house known as the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). Guides to the online UCAS application process are available from Education UK.
The closing date for application for most institutions is mid-January but Cambridge, Oxford and those wishing to study medicine, dentistry or veterinary science have an earlier closing date of mid-October. International students may submit applications up until the end of June but places on the most popular programs will by then have been awarded to earlier applicants. We therefore advise that US candidates submit applications as close to mid-January as possible. To view the most up-to-date deadlines, visit the UCAS site.
You can only apply up to 4 courses in these subjects:
•Medicine - course codes A100, A101, A103, A104 or A106
•Dentistry - course codes A200, A203, A204, A205 or A206
•Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Science - course codes D100 or D101
You may choose two courses (other than any of those above) to complete the application form. If you apply for more than four courses in these subjects, your application will not be considered. Please note that the closing date for these courses is 15 October.
Within 14 days of receiving your application UCAS will send you a welcome letter that lists your program choices.
Each university contacts students on its own timetable regarding admission decisions. You will be able to monitor decisions in the online application system.
In previous years, there were two routes into art and design. Now, you apply through the normal route. UCAS will send your application to each of your chosen universities and colleges, and you can wait until you have received a decision for each choice before replying to any offers.
There are two application deadlines for art and design courses. Universities and colleges decide which deadline to use for each course - it will be in either January or March.
