World premiere of Wild Swans

Jung Chang's bestselling memoir Wild Swans comes to the stage for the first time through a transatlantic partnership with London's the Young Vic, the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Actors Touring Company.  This production brings together a joint US/UK artistic team that includes playwright Alexandra Wood, director Sacha Wares, designer Miriam Buether and Beijing video artist Wang GongXin.

Wild Swans premieres at A.R.T. before moving to the Young Vic in April 2012 for World Stages London, a new international theater festival supported by the British Council's London 2012 program.

Amidst a dystopian metropolis squirming with cockroaches and unrest, characters must navigate a maze of government oppression and urban paranoia.  Combining live music, a darkly humorous narrative, and captivating interaction between animation and live actors, 1927’s newest show is a graphic novel sprung to life.
