Certification of Documents    

The British Council has the authority to offer certification services.

Certification is confirmation that a photocopy is a true copy of an original document.

Our Fair Collection Notice states:

• We will require your original documents to provide this service.  
• We will hold these securely until the service is complete and the documents can be returned to you.  
• We will retain a copy for our records.  
• We will also record your name, type of document, the date of transaction, and any other relevant details for our records.  

This will be kept securely and will not be provided to any other parties unless we are legally required to do so.

Certification is done at the British Council on Tuesdays only from 8:00am to 11:30am (excluding public holidays).

The British Council will only certify academic certificates issued by UK Institutions and Trinidad and Tobago Institutions. The British Council will not certify certificates issued by US, Canadian or other non-UK Institutions. The British Council will also not certify Statements of Results, Results Slips, Transcripts or civil documents such as Birth Certificates.

The original academic certificate/s is required for certification.  We will not accept any copies; The British Council will copy the document.

The cost of certification is TT $50.00 for each copy of the certificate which is accepted in cash only.
