Although British Council Taipei works closely with Education UK Partnership (formerly ECS) Manchester on operational and policy matters, education promotion activities in Taiwan are completely self-funded and independent.  What this means is that Taiwan runs an independent membership scheme, separately from EUKP.  Our education promotion work is funded entirely from revenue generated through services and subscriptions under this scheme.  Policy matters with regard to the scheme in Taiwan are managed by the Taiwan Panel, which consists of elected representative from the subscribership, from  the HE, EFL, School and FE sectors, as well as senior figures from the British Council.  There are currently over 100 subscribers from all sectors in the Taiwan Education Promotion Scheme.     

Annual Subscription Period   

The period of subscription is ONE YEAR: from 1 April to 31 March.  After the end of the subscription period, your subscription will be renewed automatically unless we receive a written notification from you requesting otherwise, by 01 April 2011.

Benefits   

Membership of the Taiwan Education Promotion Scheme entitles subscribers to access a wide range of services, designed to support and work in partnership with UK institutions from all sectors interested in marketing themselves in Taiwan.  
The service offered to members includes market intelligence and support, display of institutional information in our information centres in Taipei and Kaohsiung, a dedicated Education Promotion Officer to specialise in each of the four sectors, support with information about agents, support when visiting Taiwan, events and exhibitions, promotional programmes, academic links with local institutions, Alumni support, a UK-based helpdesk, and others.

Cost for Subscription   

The annual subscription charge for all subscribing institutions in the Higher Education sector for 2010/2011 is £2,000, and for institutions in the FE, Sec and EFL Sectors is £350.  Subscription is open to all UK education providers who fulfil standard EUKP criteria (i.e. offering qualifications which fall within the UK’s national qualifications framework, plus appropriate accreditations: Plus recognition for public sector institutions; and QAA, BAC, ISC or Accreditation UK as appropriate for independent sector and EFL).
