Our services    

We offer you the face to face counselling service at the Counselling Point and other services listed below at the General Information Centre.   

Consult the British Council Education Promotion Team

We now offer more specialised counselling service for you to prepare the things you should know before you go to UK for study. There are two Counselling Areas in each venue providing you information for:

Higher Education Studies (Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Distance Learning and Scholarships)    
Secondary Education and Language Courses   

If you find it difficult to choose which of the many stands to visit, come and visit the British Council office prior to the Exhibition and talk to one of our Education Promotion Officers, who will help you to prepare all the necessary information before you visit the Exhibition.

When you visit the Exhibition, you can first talk to one of our staff at the main Information Counter or at the Counselling Point. Our British Council Education Promotion Officers will be available throughout the exhibition to advise you face to face on any aspect of your decision to study in the UK. Our Education Promotion team can also explain the differences between the UK and Taiwanese education systems, and how the two systems compare. With help from our dedicated team, you will be able to find the most suitable institutions for your own specific purpose.

If you are not able to study abroad full-time, but wish to obtain a degree from a British institution you might consider undertaking your further studies through Distance Learning.

Our Education Promotion Officers will also be able to advise you on various Distance Learning courses, delivery modes and study methods, including how to choose the most suitable DL programme and how the British Council can support your studies, as well as current DL legislation by the Taiwan Ministry of Education.

Exams   
The IELTS exam assesses whether you are ready to study or train in English. It is the preferred test of most universities in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada as well as an increasing number in the USA. IELTS tests your ability to listen, read, write and speak in academic or general training contexts and it also helps to identify areas of weakness in English that candidates should focus on in order to improve overall proficiency. Information about IELTS and other UK-based examinations, as well as a range of IELTS preparation materials will be provided at the Exhibition.   

Study Guides    
During the Exhibition, you will be able to purchase various reference books about studying in the UK including the "Guide to UK Education 2009 - Chinese version", "UK universities, colleges and schools handbook 2009", "Guide to UK Education Postgraduate and MBA 2009", "Guide to UK Education Undergraduate and pre-university 2009", etc.   

English Courses   
The British Council offers a range of courses from its office here in Taipei for IELTS preparation, General English, Workplace English as well as for Kids [aged 9 to 12] and Teens [aged 13 to 16]. Courses focus on developing effective communication in English and are carefully designed to link to international standards. Professional teachers, the use of the latest classroom technology and a friendly and enjoyable experience help make these courses arguably the best in Taiwan.   

UK Travel and Visa Information   
All visitors and students planning to go to the UK are welcome to get UK travel and visa information from either British Council or BTCO Visa Handling Unit staff at the exhibition.
