Said Foundation Scholarship

What is the Said Foundation?

In memory of Karim Rida Said, the Said Foundation offers a number of partial (or in exceptional circumstances full-cost) scholarships each year.These scholarships enable graduates to pursue a course of taught postgraduate study or of postgraduate study, postgraduate research or training.

We welcome applications from Iraqi, Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian citizens. Scholarships are normally tenable for up to one year. You may be given preference if you have 2 years work experience relevant to your proposed course of study.

The Foundation has joint scholarships schemes with the following universitires

You MUST apply to these universities if they have courses meeting your needs. Applicants should apply using the Foundation’s application form by 31 January 2012.

Can I apply?

You can apply for the scheme if you:

Plan to return to Syria on completion of your studies.
Have a good first degree
Provide evidence of proficiency in English.
Have applied for a place on at least one course in the UK.
Have at least 2 years of work experience gained after graduation.

How can I apply?

You need to complete an application form, which may be obtained from  the Foundation’s website http://www.saidfoundation.org/whatwedo/masters.shtml or you can download the application form guidance notes, finanical summary Form here

Completed application form and financial summer forms must be returned to us by 31 January 2012, for the academic year 2012/2013.(please don't attach any irrelevant paperwork).

Said Foundation Scholarships at Oxford and Cambridge Universities

The Foundation offers a number of scholarships in partnership with Oxford and Cambridge. Details about the application procedure can be found in the Foundation’s “Guidance Notes for Oxford and Cambridge Applicants” which are available on the Said Foundation website www.saidfoundation.org or alternatively the notes can be downloaded from here
