The examinations consist of three levels - Certificate, Diploma and Professional Graduate. You can get exemptions for some subjects or some levels. Please visit the BCS website and see the list exemption qualifications. Examinations are held twice a year, in April and in October. All the levels can be taken in the April session. In October only Certificate and several Diploma subjects can be taken.

The main examinations are held in May/June, with repeat exams for LLB held in October. Registrations take place in January for May/June examinations and in August for October exams.

The Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) test is designed to assess your knowledge and skills, and your ability to work safely in your first appointment as a senior house officer in British hospitals.
Examination bookings can be done by using on line registration The closing date for applications is eight weeks before the exam dates.
Part one is held at centres in the United Kingdom and in certain other countries: e.g. Sri Lanka, Egypt, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, Dubai and India.
Part two can only be taken in the United Kingdom. The exam fee for the part 1 is £145.

The Royal College of Physicians aims to ensure high quality care for patients by improving standards and influencing policy and practice in modern medicine. It sets standards for clinical practice, conducts examinations, defines and monitors education and training programmes for physicians, supports doctors in their practice of medicine, and advises the Government, public and the profession on healthcare issues.
The MRCP (UK) Examination consists of three parts. In the UK it is usually taken during the period of general professional training in medicine which follows registration with the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom, and normally lasts at least two years. The MRCP (UK) Diploma does not, therefore, confer specialist status: in the UK it is recognised as an entry qualification for higher specialist training.

The BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) is a subject-specific admissions test taken by applicants to certain medicine, veterinary medicine and related courses. The BMAT is owned and administered by Cambridge Assessment, the new identity for UCLES, one of the world’s largest assessment agencies.
The examination is held once a year in November. Please watch this space for dates, in the 4th week of August.

Graduates of British universities, whether they studied in the UK or followed courses in Sri Lanka, are now working in some of the biggest organisations in Sri Lanka. We are an examination centre for students studying distance programmes or studying at affiliated institutes in Sri Lanka for all UK universities.
We accept requests from universities, institutes, professional bodies and candidates to administer their exams at any time of the year. These include universities such as Herriot-Watt, Leicester University, Uni. Nottingham and professional bodies such as CIPS.
