Comenius and Lifelong Learning

There will be several changes to Comenius in the new EU Lifelong Learning Programme (2007-2013).

As of 2007, Comenius will continue as part of the new European Union Lifelong Learning Programme.

Comenius School Partnerships
Comenius School Partnerships under the Lifelong Learning Programme will bring greater flexibility and simplification for project beneficiaries. However, because the programme is adapting, with differences in terms of rules, deadlines and procedures, we anticipate that initially the onset of the new programme rules could cause some confusion as schools get used to the new arrangements.

Therefore we advise schools to read carefully the information contained in this website and in our guidance. If you need further advice or guidance, please contact the relevant Programme Officer for your region.

Comenius Professional Development
The new Life-long Learning Programme (LLP) continues to offer teachers and other staff within the school education sector opportunities for European professional development. Grants will be available to support participation in in-service training courses, job-shadowing or other eligible professional development activities in another European country.

Comenius Language Assistants
Future teachers receive funding to spend 3-10 months working in schools in another European country.
