BUSINESS ENGLISH CERTIFICATES (BEC)

Take your career further

The Business English Certificates (BEC) are designed to test the English used in business and commerce. They will increase your career prospects at home and on the international job market and are available at three levels. The BEC exams are widely recognised around the world by many corporations and Higher Education Institutions.

BEC Preliminary

In Slovenia, BEC Preliminary is suitable for secondary school students and people in the work force who have started learning English later in life. It is also designed to encourage development towards BEC Vantage.This exam is at Council of Europe language level B1 (the same as PET) for those who are seventeen years and older.

BEC Vantage

BEC Vantage (the same level as the FCE of the main suite exam) is aimed at students (working in or preparing to work) in a range of business fields, from general office work to production and financial services. It is at Council of Europe language level B2.

BEC Higher

Learners at BEC Higher level (the same level as the CAE) will be expected to use English regularly in their jobs and to engage in extended conversation, contribute effectively to meetings and seminars, write reports, understand most correspondence, articles and reports, use the telephone for most purposes and negotiate successfully in most situations. This exam is at Council of Europe language level C1.
