Linking Scotland and China through Chinese language and culture

The British Council offers opportunities for schools to develop their knowledge of Chinese language and culture through activities funded by the Scottish Government.

2011 Mandarin Chinese Speaking Competition

This annual competition is supported by the HSBC Global Education Programme and organised by the British Council to support and promote the teaching of Chinese as a modern foreign language in UK schools. The regional heats are underway as schools compete for a place in the final and a chance to win a trip to China in April.

CHINESE LANGUAGE ASSISTANTS PROGRAMME

We can recruit language assistants for your school from China to promote the teaching of Manadarin Chinese language and raise awareness of China and its culture.
