To celebrate the new school year, eTwinning is running its annual ‘ eTwinning Weeks’ campaign.
All through October, eTwinners old and new can take part in a variety of competitions, training opportunities and events across Europe organised through the eTwinning Portal. This is the ideal way to find out how eTwinning can benefit your school, meet new colleagues and get started on an exciting new eTwinning activity!
eTwinning is the European Commission’s online school collaboration tool. It allows teachers, and students in 32 European countries to work together using Information and Communication Technology (ICT). It is quick, safe and easy to use.
Teachers and students can form short or long term partnerships, collaborate on a whole range of curriculum based projects in any subject area and use an array of exciting and innovative ICT tools. There is no administration process or time restriction – you choose how and when you want to work.
From the 1-31 October, the British Council eTwinning Team will be running a weekly prize draw offering all newly projects registered the chance to webcams and memory sticks. There will also be a special series of videos, podcasts and online interviews, highlighting how eTwinning is actively supporting teachers and education initiatives across the UK.
Teachers can have their say about eTwinning with a new series of teacher Blogs that will follow the success of their newly registered eTwinning projects over the course of the academic year.
We have also just launched the latest version of our successful TwinSpace. This is the online area where eTwinning project members (teachers and pupils) meet, collaborate and share their work.
TwinSpace home page © British CouncilBased on user feedback, TwinSpace is now simpler to use and more intuitive. The new interface makes the process of getting to know each other easier and supports more project activities. It has many new features including: a Staff Room, Pupils' Corner, blogs, wikis and much more!
Though there are many new features, safety and privacy remain our top priority with all personal information being kept restricted, even within published TwinSpaces.
