On the 2nd of April 2010 in the framework of the 20th anniversary season of Russian Fashion Week, Moscow will host the British Fashion Day with 4 young designers from the UK.
This joint project run by the British Council and Russian Fashion Week will introduce Russian audience to the cutting edge tendencies of British fashion and will open up the possibilities for professional communication between the representatives of Russian and British fashion sector.
Within the British Day 4 new generation British designers will showcase their latest collections: Clare Lopeman, Osman Yousefzada, PPQ and Eley Kishimoto
Clare Lopman – is a professional design consultant, she has spent the last 11 years working as a freelance Fashion & Textile designer for a number of international labels such as La Perla, BCBG, John Rocha, Armani, Rose Nichols, Guess and Calvin Klein. Moreover Clare has also invested significant efforts into Fashion education, developing and delivering a number of UK recognised Fashion design programmes in London including the authorship and delivery of bespoke training courses for industry names such as Paul Smith, The Taiwan Textile Research Institute and Disney at the London College of Fashion. Today Clare is a Fashion Design course curator at The British Higher School of Art & Design in Moscow
Osman Yousefzada – is a young British designer, but he has already created a distinctive and confident signature for his label. By combining innovative cutting with masterful drapery he crafts desirable timeless garments in the most luxurious fabrics. 2008 was the launch of one of the most successful, and critically acclaimed collaborations of the year - Osman Yousefzada’s Little Black Dress collection for Mango, which was sold over 203 stores, and in 35 countries worldwide.
The name of the brand PPQ stands for the pretty personal question. It is still a relatively young company, formed in 1992, however it is already sold all over Europe, in the USA and Japan. The success is explained by the talented duo of designers behind the brand – Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker.
Started in the early 90’s, Eley Kishimoto is the duo of Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto, a couple of really creative fashion designers who’ve worked with some of the biggest names: Mark Jacobs, Alexander Macqueen, Givenchy, Guy Laroche, Louis Vuitton and Cacharel. They are also known for the fantastic unique prints.
