The Triple A City

Insight into creative city from Netherland’s leading specialist

Why have some cities become successful, energetic centres of creativity? Why have some cities not become passive victims of unavoidable changes but made their way to economical and social development? And the most important question is “How can we change the way we think to make our city a place we really want to live and play in?”

To answer these questions, British Council and Theories and Practices project are bringing Roy Van Dalm, one of the Netherland’s brightest specialists on creative economy, tightly associated with Richard Florida’s Creative Class Group. In the framework of the “Creative Cities” project Roy will deliver a lecture “The Triple A City”.

Similarly to how Richard Florida defined a Triple T that stands behind the city prosperity: “The cities that prosper economically in my index have a mix of Talent, Technology and Tolerance. These three T’s define the winners in the Creative Age”, Roy will speak of three A’s that define the new creative city, a home to remarkable examples of innovation and regeneration.

To meet Roy, please come to Laboratoria Art & Science Space on September 10, 2009 at 9 pm.

If there is no rain, the lecture will take place outdoors, so make sure to wear something warm. In any case Ahmad will make tea for everyone present.

Address: Moscow, pereulok Obukha, 3
