From its beginning, the Peacekeeping English Project invested significant resources to provide professional development for teachers, teacher trainers and language training administrators.
The Project's training programme covered both in-country and international events. There were notable advances in the following training areas:
* Public sector ELT Management
* An international trainer training scheme
* ESP for teachers in uniformed services contexts
* Establishment and maintenance of Self-Access Centres.
An important task for the Project was to establish sustainable systems for professional development. This made it easier to transfer skills and knowledge within individual countries and across and beyond the Project as a whole.
