Video Conferencing

How to get more from your communications

Are you currently studying at a university? Or are you a professional looking to network with your counterparts? We can support your work with our video conferencing facilities.

What is video conferencing?

Video conferencing is an interactive form of real-time communication that uses screens, in addition to a sound link. This TV-style linking allows you to hold meetings, discussions and give presentations without having to leave your place of work, helping you to save time and money.

Uses of video conferencing

One-to-one communication
This is the simplest form and is the type of conferencing most commonly associated with desktop PC conferencing. This is simply one person talking to another.

One-to-many communication
This may take the form of a broadcast from one site that is then transmitted to several other sites. A good example of this may be a presentation or educational lecture to a number of students.

Many-to-many communication
This is the most complex form of video conferencing and is mostly associated with room based video conferencing technology. In this case several parties (more than 2) are involved in the conference, and all can be seen and heard.

Why use video conferencing?

You can use video conferencing for:

lectures, tutorials or as a meeting point for distance learning students with their UK professors and counterparts
informal meetings at short notice
linking people and facilitating experience sharing between contacts in Palestine and the UK. You can communicate more regularly with people in other districts or countries, which would usually be costly or impossible if you had to travel
improved communication channels between us and Palestinian institutions and partners
for teaching and learning applications, research purposes, watching presentations and attending meetings
face to face interviewing
sharing information and resources with groups of people without travelling long distances using video conferencing saves money as it can lower your expenses - there is no need for all the costs involved with travelling, such as meals and tickets
accessing local and international expertise, increasing cultural understanding
improving language learning
supporting virtual/online learning.
