IELTS preparation courses are currently on offer in our Lisbon centre, Cambridge ESOL preparation courses in all centres.

IELTS preparationWe also offer courses in preparation for the International Legal English Certificate exam (ILEC) and the International Certificate in Financial English exam (ICFE).
When
For IELTS preparation, we offer two modes of study: a 15-hour course; and a 30-hour course over a longer period of time.
For Cambridge ESOL (FCE, CAE and FCE) preparation courses, we offer 10-week, 30-hour courses prior to exam dates, either twice a week for one and a half hours a lesson, or once a week for three hours.

IELTS preparation courses are currently on offer in our Lisbon centre. These courses are designed for those students who are intending to take the IELTS exam (academic module) because they are intending to pursue studies in the UK or another English speaking country.
Candidates for both courses should be of intermediate level. However, we recommend that the earlier you begin to prepare for your future studies the better

IELTS: 15 HOUR INTENSIVE PREPARATION COURSEIELTS Familiarisation (Academic Module) - Lisbon
The aim of this 15-hour course is to prepare students for the IELTS exam. The course concentrates only on exam familiarisation for the four exam papers: speaking, writing, reading and listening skills. These courses are usually offered shortly before the exam date.

This 10 week (30-hour) course prepares students, who want to study abroad and wish to sit the IELTS exam. The course concentrates on strategy training, exam familiarisation, and the development of necessary reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

These intensive exam courses introduce you to each of the question types in the Cambridge ESOL exam you are planning to do, give you an idea of how much time you have to carry out each task, help you understand what you are being tested on and to work out the best strategy for approaching each task. As this is quite a demanding schedule, it is assumed that students who enter this course are already at the required level for their chosen exam in terms of language knowledge.
In Greater Lisbon, we offer 10-week, 30-hour courses prior to exam dates.

Placement tests are available throughout the academic year.
Tests are valid for 12 months. The test fee is EUR 10.00 (non-refundable).

British Council Portal
The British Council Portal (opens in new window) gives all secondary and adult students access to their personal assessments and lesson summaries. To log on, all you need is your student number and your password, given to you by your teacher.
Parents/guardians can also view the lesson summaries and assessments of secondary students and all YL reports. To log on you’ll need your child’s student accountname/number (6nnnnnn or 7nnnnnn), their password and an email account.
