The STEP examination is a well-established Mathematics university admissions test which is used to help to select the most academically able students for courses which are usually oversubscribed.

Each paper is three hours long and is divided into three sections:
There is no restriction on choice of questions. Calculators are not allowed. Universities will specify which papers a candidate needs to sit.
In order to register for STEP you should:
1. Read the STEP Regulations carefully.
2. Fill in the STEP Registration Form and pay the exam fee according to the British Council fees list to:

Before submitting your documents please make sure that:
Entries received after the deadline as well as incomplete entries will not be accepted.
In order to receive the registration documents, candidates can also contact any British Council Examination Centres. Candidates can collect the documents in person or receive them by mail or post.
Information about venue and time of the exam will be sent to candidates by e-mail approximately 2 weeks before the test date.
On the day of the exam please bring a valid identity document (with a recent photo) a pen, pencil and eraser.

The exam can be taken at all British Council Examination Centres in Poland.

STEP Mathematics will take place on the following dates in 2012:
1. DISABLED CANDIDATES
Candidates who require special arrangements (e.g. candidates with hearing or visual difficulties) are asked to provisionally report it while subbmitting their registration forms to the British Council. Relevant supporting documentation, i.e. a medical certificate, a registration form completed and signed by the candidate and a proof of payment - should be submitted to the British Council in Warsaw by the end of the particular registration period. Candidates who require modified question papers for disabled persons are asked to submit a medical certificate, signed registration form and a proof of payment to the British Council office in Warsaw by the 30th March 2012.
2. CANDIDATES WITH DYSLEXIA, DYSGRAPHIA OR DYSORTOGRAPHIA
Candidates applying for extra time for the examination because of dyslexia, dysgraphia or dysorthographia are asked to provisionally report it while subbmitting their registration forms to the British Council and submit the following documents to the British Council office in Warsaw by the end of the particular registration period:
1. a report provided by a fully qualified educational, clinical or chartered psychologist:
a) issued not earlier than two years before the exam date
b) stating details of the degree of dyslexia, dysgraphia or dysorthographia
2. a registration form (completed and signed by the candidate) and a proof of payment
No documents will be accepted after the end of the particular registration period. Any request for special arrangements of candidates who provisionally reported their special arrangements needs in the registration form, but did not deliver the abovementioned documents by the end of the particular registration period will not be taken into consideration.
Candidates will be able to download their results using the Results Online system on the 16th of August 2012.
Information about how to retrieve results will be provided to candidates at the time of the relevant test.
Candidates wishing to apply for a results enquiry should submit an application for results enquiry to the British Council office in Warsaw by:

The results enquries should arrive with the British Council no later than on the 22nd August 2012.
The service is chargeable. The fee for this service is 210zł.
